This Yidaki style didjeridoo is a rare didj as it comes from Wardaman Country which is typically a Gunbarrk(didjeridoo) area. It was collected with the Elder Bill Harney and completely hand carved, polished, treated and painted by Sam Mehan. It has a great sound and can toot really easy in a few different octaves.
The Yidaki has an irregular shape, the bumps and curves come to life as it has been, as instructed by Bill completely carved and sanded by hand, ensuring that the Ancestral Spirit does not get vibrated out of the didj by power tools. The painting of the didjeridoo has been done in traditional ochre colors; red of the earth, yellow of the sun, black of the people and white for the protection in sacred place or of ceremonial significance. This instrument will last a lifetime if cared for correctly as it has been treated with natural oil and polished with ridji-didj special Australian Bees wax formula made from completely natural products. (see shop for wax and 'care for your didj' page). Let Bill's Ancestor vibrate the Wisdom and Knowledge of Wardaman People into you Heart and Being!
Dimensions and key will be added soon
